PMC to set up 5 water treatment plants

Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Monday gave approval to a Rs 715-crore sewage infrastructure project that aims at 100% treatment of sewage generated in the city.

Five new sewage treatment plants (STP) will be set up, while the capacity of five old plants will be increased as part of this project , The project will create an additional capacity to treat another 177 MLD of sewage.

The five new plants will come up at Warje, Hadapsar, Vadagon budruk, Bopodi and Dhanori. Along with setting up of these plants, works of laying of pipelines, drainage lines and repairing of the current drainage lines will also be carried out.
