PM Modi Lays Foundation for ₹42,000 Crore Mahi Banswara Nuclear Power Project in Rajasthan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently laid the foundation stone for the Mahi Banswara Rajasthan Atomic Power Project at Banswara, marking a significant milestone for Anushakti Vidhyut Nigam (ASHVINI).

With an estimated investment of around ₹42,000 crore, the project is set to become one of India’s largest nuclear power plants, aimed at providing reliable base-load energy to the region.

The Mahi Banswara Rajasthan Atomic Power Project (MBRAPP) will feature four indigenous 700 megawatt (MW) Pressurised Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs) equipped with advanced safety features, also known as IPHWR 700, underscoring India’s commitment to expanding its clean energy capabilities through domestic technology.
