Palakkad Industrial Smart City Infrastructure to Be Completed in Single Phase.

The infrastructure development of the Palakkad Industrial Smart City, a flagship project under the Kochi–Bengaluru Industrial Corridor, will be executed in a single phase, officials have confirmed.

The Kerala Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (KICDC) has begun preliminary preparations, with the first coordination meeting scheduled next week. This meeting will include representatives from the contracting consortium Dilip Buildcon–PSP Projects and the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT). Development work on the project is expected to start by the end of this month or early next month, said Industries Principal Secretary A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish.

Funding for the project will be released by the Central Government in phases. Once the Centre confirms its fund release, the State Government will transfer a proportionate share of the 330 acres of land acquired by Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA) to KICDC. To date, the Centre has released ₹313.5 crore in two instalments, with a third instalment anticipated soon, according to KINFRA Managing Director Santosh Koshy Thomas.
