'Pak-China trade cooperation flourishing'

Lahore: The economic and trade co-operation between China and Pakistan are increasing and investment by China in various projects in Pakistan is an encouraging sign, while complete security is being provided to the Chinese working on projects in Pakistan, said Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Ejaz Nisar when he talked to Chinese Ambassador Luo Zhao Hui on Thursday.

'There is a growing co-operation between China and Pakistan in agricultural research, industries, information technology, other sectors and there is a great demand for Chinese products in Pakistan,' he said.

'The government is extending all out facilities to Chinese entrepreneurs for investment in Pakistan. China is a sincere friend of Pakistan and has provided invaluable guidance to Pakistan on important issues', he added.

He said the Pak-China friendship was never limited to government level only, but also the peoples of both the countries and had respect and love for each other. He said his government was setting up centres to teach the Chinese language helping the people of the two countries to understand each other's culture better.

The chief minister said his government's main aim was to hold the general elections in a fair, free and transparent manner and that the entire provincial machinery had been geared up. He said all political parties had been provided equal opportunities to contest the elections and that his government had taken solid measures to provide a favourable atmosphere.

Ambassador Hui said the Pak-China friendship was strengthening with the passage of time, adding that his people attached great importance to the bilateral relations with Pakistan. He said the growing trade and economic co-operation between China and Pakistan was leaving a positive impact on the economies of both countries.
