Morocco emphasises trade ties with Pakistan

Karachi: The leader of Moroccan Trade Delegation Dr Aziz Chekaovi has emphasised the need of frequent exchange of delegations and dissemination of business and trade information to boost bilateral trade.

Speaking at a meeting of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) he said that two way trade is only 163 million dollars out of which Pakistan import from Morocco is only 13 million dollars and export to Morocco is 150 million dollars.

He pointed out a number of items including surgical items, fruits, vegetables, textile products, sports goods etc which Morocco can import from Pakistan. Generally, Morocco imports these products from Germany and other countries, he added.

He said that he was surprised to see good quality and prices of these Pakistani products He invited Pakistani business community to participate in Morocco International trade fair scheduled to be held from June 25 to July 5, 2009 to introduce Pakistani products in Morocco.

He also invited to attend international Dental Expo Morocco scheduled to be held from October 1 to November 4, 2009. President KCCI, Anjum Nisar said that little knowledge of each other's products is the basic cause of low volume of two-way trade. He said that frequent visit of delegations will help boost two way trade.
