L&T gets JSW power project

Mumbai: Engineering and construction company Larsen & Toubro has secured a Rs 446-crore order from JSW Power Transco for evacuation of power from the 1,200-MW power project being set up at Ratnagiri by JSW Energy (Ratnagiri) Ltd.

The order is for setting up of 400 kv transmission lines Jaigad to Karad and Jaigad to New Koyna - totalling 169 km. The work will be done by the transmission line business unit of ECC, which is L&T's Construction Division.

An L&T release said the work involved survey, supply of components such as transmission line tower members, conductors, insulators and hardware accessories, besides construction of the line across the two sections. The order is scheduled for completion in 18 months.
