EWA signs four major agreements
Manama: Four key deals worth over BD21,204 million ($56,232.8m) have been signed with companies in charge of electricity and water transportation projects.
Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) chief executive Dr Abdulmajid Al Awadhi sealed the deals with representatives of the firms.
The first BD10.8m contract was awarded to Ahmed Mansoor Al A'ali to supply Bahrain Financial Harbour, Al Lulu and Al Futaim islands with water.
A second contract was also sealed with same company for BD6.708m to carry out the civil engineering works for the 220 and 66 kV power transmission substations in Seef, North Al Fateh, Diyar Al Muharraq, Bahrain Investment Wharf and Umm Al Hasam.
A contract was awarded to Al Hoty Analytical Services for BD29,840 to carry out land survey and soil analysis for the planned substations.
Sumitomo Corporation won a BD3.7m contract to extend the existing 220 and 66 kV substations in Hawar, Jasra, Hamad Town and Busaiteen.
