Emobi Unveils Low-Speed AKX LS Commuter, Aiming for B2C Expansion by FY28.
Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler startup Emobi Manufacturing Private Limited is enhancing its focus on the B2B marketplace with the launch of its low-speed AKX LS Commuter, designed for micro-mobility and quick-commerce deliveries. Bharat Rao, Founder and CEO of Emobi, announced that the company intends to strengthen its B2B operations before transitioning into the consumer market, aiming for expansion by FY28.
“For the next two to three years, our primary focus will be on the B2B marketplace, allowing us to tap into a growing segment within the larger B2C market,” Rao explained. He emphasized that this strategy will enable Emobi to refine its core electric vehicle (EV) components, such as the battery, while the charging infrastructure matures.
With the introduction of the AKX LS, Emobi now offers three bike variants: a certified low-speed model, a high-speed variant currently undergoing certification, and the medium-speed AKX, which is in the testing phase. The company expects to generate revenue growth starting next year after the certification process is completed. “For this financial year, we expect modest revenues as we concentrate on investing in certification and the tooling required for series production,” Rao added.
Emobi plans to deploy its first pilot vehicle by November this year, with expectations to scale up to larger deployments by early next financial year. The company aims for broader deployments in conjunction with the full integration of last-mile delivery companies.
Additionally, Emobi has partnered with Livaah Innovations to make the battery pack used in the AKX compatible with Livaah’s inverters. This collaboration allows the battery packs not only to charge the vehicle's battery but also to serve as a backup power source during blackouts or power cuts, further enhancing the functionality of the AKX LS Commuter.
