Delta Electronics India Signs Deal for Wind Power in Tamil Nadu.
Delta Electronics India, a leading provider of power and energy management solutions, has announced a significant step towards enhancing its renewable energy footprint by signing a new Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). This strategic move will enable the company to power its manufacturing and operational facilities across Tamil Nadu with wind-generated electricity.
Facilitated by Ventus Energy Consultancy, the agreement will see Delta Electronics India annually source a combined 9.6 million units of wind power. This transition is expected to lead to a substantial reduction in the company's reliance on fossil fuel-based electricity, thereby cutting approximately 6,979 metric tons of carbon emissions annually.
The wind-generated electricity will be procured from wind farms strategically located in Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, and Tiruppur. The power will then be supplied to Delta's facilities via the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) grid under a 12-year agreement, ensuring a long-term commitment to sustainable energy practices.
This initiative underscores Delta Electronics India's commitment to environmental sustainability and its efforts to contribute to India's renewable energy goals.
