Craftsman Automation to Invest ₹150 Crore in New Hosur Factory.
Craftsman Automation Ltd, a leading manufacturer of automotive and industrial components, has announced plans to set up a new factory at SIPCOT Industrial Park, Shoolagiri, Hosur, with an investment of ₹150 crore.
The company’s board approved the project on Wednesday as part of its strategy to expand aluminium product capacity in southern India, a key hub for two-wheeler and passenger car OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers). With its existing facilities nearing full capacity, the company aims to strengthen manufacturing infrastructure to meet rising demand.
The new plant is expected to increase production capacity by 15% over the next 9 to 12 months. Currently, Craftsman Automation’s facilities operate at around 75% utilisation, and the expansion will enhance efficiency while keeping production within a 100-150 km radius of major OEMs.
The ₹150 crore investment will be 90% funded through term loans, with the remainder coming from internal accruals, the company informed stock exchanges.
