CMC gets land for second campus in AP
Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to allot 589.59 acres in Mapakshi of Chittoor Mandal to Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore.
“The officials of CMC had sought Government land at the existing market rate to set up a second campus in Andhra Pradesh and the land has been allotted to CMC,” Mr Anam Ramnarayan Reddy, Information and Public Relations Minister, Andhra Pradesh Government, said after the Cabinet meeting here on Tuesday.
CMC proposes to set up a super specialty hospital, a medical college, pharmacy college, dental college, nursing school and bio-medical engineering college.
The Cabinet also gave permission to the Public Health Department for construction of storage reservoir with a capacity of 100 Mcft in 90 acres out of the 138 acres of Puttur Minor Irrigation Tank without affecting the benefits of ayacutdars.
The State Cabinet ratified a decision to grant 22 per cent interim relief to Government employees.
Mr Reddy also said that the Commission of Inquiry headed by Mr Justice T.H.B Chalapathi, of the Punjab and Haryana High Courts, has submitted its report on the irregularities in selecting B.H.C Agro (India) Pvt Ltd as consultants for taking up a pilot project for development of Kuppam block.
The recommendations of the Commission have been approved by the State Cabinet after due consideration, the Minister said.
“The Commission found that there was embezzlement of funds to the tune of Rs 19 crore which was diverted to other countries, and was for investigation by CID by registering a case against Mr Boaz Raam, Mr P Prabhakar Rao, Mr Jacob Hadar, Mr Ahobala Rao and other Government officers who have been involved in making payment and misappropriation of funds,” he said.
The recommendation also ordered inquiry as to why Agro (India) sent the day-to-day expenditure to Mr Raam’s company, Subcon Products New Jersey.
“It also asked to obtain information from the Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, with regard to sending the money to the US and whether any permission was obtained, as permission for repayment of loan was given,” he said.
The Government also allowed sanction of 8,04,736 additional houses under Indiramma Phase-III programme. “Of the total additional houses, 7,20,520 houses will come up in rural areas and 84,206 in urban areas. The total project cost is Rs 2,610.15 crore,” he said.
