Ahmedabad Airport Hits 10 Million Passenger Milestone
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad has achieved a significant milestone in the current financial year by serving over 10 million passengers as of February 8, according to an official statement released by the Adani Group on Friday. This accomplishment comes 50 days earlier than the previous year, when the airport reached the 10 million passenger mark on March 29, 2023.
The SVPI Airport now boasts an average of over 240 daily flight movements, catering to approximately 32,000 domestic and international passengers across its two terminals. Notably, the General Aviation terminal has played a pivotal role in supporting major events such as the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, G20, U20, and World Cup matches, contributing to the surge in passenger numbers.
Over the last three years, the airport has undergone significant infrastructure expansions, with the domestic terminal area expanding by 9,000 square meters and the international terminal growing by over 10,000 square meters. These developments are part of several infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing the airport's capacity and passenger experience.
The airport currently connects 42 domestic destinations through seven airlines and serves 15 international destinations through 18 airlines, reflecting its importance as a key aviation hub in the region, as highlighted in the release.
