Adani Group Enlists International Designers and Experts for Ambitious Dharavi Redevelopment Initiative

In a groundbreaking initiative, the Adani Group has embarked on the ambitious task of redeveloping Dharavi, one of the world's largest slum clusters in Mumbai. The Dharavi Redevelopment Project Pvt Ltd (DRPPL) has enlisted the expertise of renowned planners and designers from both India and across the globe to contribute to the development of a comprehensive master plan.

Architect Hafeez Contractor, a prominent figure in social housing and slum redevelopment projects in Mumbai, will be collaborating with UK-based consultancy firm Buro Happold, recognized for its work on the Varso Tower in Warsaw-the tallest building in the European Union-and the regeneration of Battersea Power Station. Additionally, US-based design firm Sasaki, known for its involvement in city infrastructure projects worldwide, including the Denargo Market Master Plan in Denver and Ellinikon Park in Greece, will play a crucial role in the redevelopment.

Experts from Singapore will also contribute their insights to the project, collectively aiming to "reimagine one of the largest and most vibrant informal settlements in Asia," according to a statement released by the Adani Group. With their diverse experiences and expertise, the international team of designers and planners is set to spearhead the transformation of Dharavi into a model of urban development.
