Mumbai: The Tata Group is in talks with the Taiwanese Government to open a Taj group hotel in the capital city Taipei and to source electronic goods for its Croma stores.

A trade team from Taiwan led by Ambassador Mr Wenchyi Ong met top executives of Tata group, including Mr Alan Rolsing, Executive Director of Tata Sons.

Another area of co-operation which came up during the discussion between Tata Group and Taiwanese delegation was semiconductor manufacturing. Taiwan is globally one of the leading players in chip-making and has good export business with countries, including India.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation had conducted a feasibility study two years ago on setting up a chip-making facility in India.
