AAP government panel clears projects worth ₹1,250 crore.

Projects worth a total of ₹1,250 crore that cover healthcare, transport and flood control have been cleared by the Delhi government’s Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC).

At a meeting of the EFC chaired by Finance Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday, the setting up of 94 polyclinics, enhancing the number of beds at seven hospitals and construction of five new bus depots were approved, according to the minutes of meeting accessed on Thursday.

The committee approved the expenditure of ₹170.30 crore for the 94 new polyclinics, which are among about 100 health sector projects that were cleared.

The committee has approved to increase the number of beds at Guru Gobind Singh Hospital, Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital, Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital, Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital, Rao Tularam Memorial Hospital and Acharya Shree Bhikshu Hospital.

With the government in the process to buy more buses, the committee approved the construction of bus depots for a total of 895 buses at Burari, Bawana, East Vinod Nagar, Ghumanhera and Mundela village.

The committee also cleared a proposal of the Irrigation and Flood Control department for the construction of a concrete wall along the Najafgarh pond drain.
