Kejriwal lays foundation for water reservoir in Sonia Vihar.
Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday laid the foundation stone of an underground reservoir at Sonia Vihar, aimed at solving the water woes of the area.
The reservoir and the booster pump station, which has the capacity of 26.80 ML, will rationalise the water supply of Sonia Vihar. It will benefit around six lakh people residing in Karawal Nagar and Mustafabad.
“We are working tirelessly everyday so that the lives of people in Delhi can be made easier,” he said.
Along with the Chief Minister, the function was also attended by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) chairperson Dinesh Mohania and other senior officials.
“We have constructed several reservoirs in the city and this will change the water scenario of the area. Our government is under oath to make sure that each household in Delhi gets water,” Mr. Kejriwal added.
Mr. Kejriwal said that before the AAP government took over, such inaugurations were routine affairs but nothing materialised.
“I am here amidst you all and there are no elections scheduled in the city for the next two years. This project too will be completed by the end of next year. I will monitor the project and ensure that it is completed in time,” the Chief Minister told the residents.
