Parsons records safety landmark on rail project.
Parsons, an engineering, construction, technical, and management services firm, has announced that the Etihad Rail Project in Abu Dhabi has surpassed more than 10mn man hours worked (over 250 days) with zero lost-time injuries.
The Etihad Rail project is managed by a joint venture between Parsons and AECOM.
Etihad Rail, the United Arab Emirates' (UAE's) national railway network, is a 1,200km freight and passenger railway network that will serve the entire UAE and form part of the Gulf Cooperation Council rail system connecting the country to Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
Commenting on the milestone, Eng. Faris Saif Al Mazrouei, Acting CEO of Etihad Rail said: 'This achievement, which includes time dedicated to the testing and commissioning of trains since September of last year, reflects that the high safety standards of the rail industry have carried over into Etihad Rail's activities prior to the launch of commercial operations.'
