HCL Technologies gets $100 mn contract
New Delhi: HCL Technologies has bagged $100 million multi-regional data centre services, and transformation contract from Xerox Corporation.
The contract is for spanning mid-range services, business continuity and disaster recovery for Xerox’s information management operations. It is valid for over six years.
HCL will manage data centre hosting and migration, virtualisation, consolidation, and storage architecture services across North America and Europe. In addition, it will provide architecture and consulting services for new technology and system design, adoption and lifecycle improvement.
The Indian IT vendor will use its business service management process to centralise and standardise Xerox’s data centre infrastructure.
Data centre environments are the heart of our business operations, and we look to partner with companies that can manage our centres and take them to the next level.
The new win comes just days after HCL Technologies bagged a $350-million IT outsourcing services order from The Reader’s Digest Association Inc (RDA).
That contract was spread over a seven-year period, translating into an annualised run rate of $50 million. The revenue from the RDA contract would kick-in from the first quarter of its next fiscal beginning July 2009. Besides this, the Indian IT services major had also announced a multi-year, multi-regional end-to-end global helpdesk and desktop management outsourcing services agreement with Nokia, in January this year.
