Govt Approves ₹8,970-Crore Guwahati–Tezpur Express Corridor Project.

The Centre has approved the construction of a 135.871-km four-lane access-controlled Guwahati-Tezpur corridor on National Highway-15 in Assam at an estimated cost of ₹8,970.20 crore.

The project was cleared by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Thursday.

The corridor will be developed under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) toll model as part of the National Highways (Original) programme. The project is aimed at improving connectivity between Guwahati and Tezpur, enhancing travel efficiency and supporting economic activity in Assam and the wider Northeast region.
