Ennore LNG project: L&T,NTPC and others envisaged intrests despite viability issue

New Delhi: State-owned power utility NTPC and construction firm Larsen and Toubro are among the companies, which have evinced interest in partnering Indian Oil Corp (IOC) in its USD 750-million LNG import terminal at Ennore.

NTPC, L&T, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) are among those prominent contender for the project.

IOC will implement the project depend on DFR (Detailed Feasibility Report) which they commissioned.

IOC had in 2007 put on hold the LNG import-cum- regassification terminal after huge gas finds off the east coast made the project economically unviable.
