GTL to invest in energy solutions
Mumbai: Network services provider GTL will invest in developing and implementing energy management solutions for telecom towers
over the next six months.
It is in the process of developing equipment such as ambient cooling devices and solutions that use alternative sources of energy to reduce the overall power consumption at these towers.
The group is also working on engineering energy efficient solutions for the telecom industry, that help them save energy costs of up to 20 per cent.
It will spend Rs 1,400 crore for the solutions project and the funding has already raised Rs 700 crore through non-convertible debentures (NCDs). It plans to go in for another round of NCDs for the remaining investments.
